If you have ever thought about where to find the Best Workout Ever you have found it! The SPENGA workout incorporates the three pillars of fitness, Cardio, Strength & Flexibility. This high-quality, comprehensive workout is accomplished all in one 60-minute session with three, 20-minute instructor led workout segments comprised of Spin, HIIT Strength & Yoga.
What makes SPENGA different from every other workout?
1. The 3 Pillars of Fitness
The SPENGA workout is unique in that it incorporates the 3 pillars of fitness – cardio, strength, and flexibility into one workout. There is no need to have 3 different gym memberships or try to plan all three into your busy schedule – we do that for you and all in one hour! You may be asking yourself “Why do I need to have all three of these, can’t I just run or strength train?” While yes, technically you can just train in one area, the way to the most well-rounded fitness routine should include all three modalities.
Cardio
Cardio is important to build endurance and stamina. It also improves your cardiovascular health by strengthening your heart and reducing your risk for heart disease. It can also help to lower blood pressure and improve your cholesterol levels. At SPENGA, our 20 minutes of SPIN kicks off the cardio segment of the workout. It is instructor led, high energy and provides a huge caloric burn with very low impact. At SPENGA our spin sessions are based on Power which is a combination of how fast you are pedaling (RPM’s) and how much resistance you have on the bike. This gets your heart pumping and warms up your body for the remainder of the workout.
Strength
Strength is the second segment of the SPENGA workout and is important to build and maintain muscle mass, increase bone density which reduces the risk of fractures and helps to manage your weight. Did you know that as you gain muscle your body will burn more calories and increase your metabolism? Amazing! And, while strength training is important for everyone, it is especially important to focus on as we get older. As we age, our muscle mass naturally decreases, and weight training will help to reverse that trend. At SPENGA our 20 minutes of STRENGTH is carefully crafted so that you never have the same workout twice. We have multiple formats to keep you engaged and allowing your workout to never plateau. Oh! Did we forget to mention that at SPENGA you do not have to share equipment? That’s right – everyone has their own strength pod filled with everything you will need!
Flexibility
The final segment of the SPENGA workout is Yoga. We only get stronger when we recover and our yoga programming addresses key components such as balance, strength, flexibility, and relaxation. This is where SPENGA is the most unique workout – most typical workouts leave out these important body restoration movements and stretches leaving us vulnerable to muscle fatigue and injury. The incorporation of yoga as the final segment of the SPENGA workout restores the body and allows for quicker recovery between workouts.
2. Certified Instructors
All our instructors at SPENGA Marlborough have gone through a rigorous training program that includes an audition that is reviewed by Master SPENGA Instructors and must be passed 100% before they can officially instruct a SPENGA session. In addition, each instructor holds certifications in at least one area of fitness training and must complete continuing education yearly to maintain those certifications. These certifications include Mad Dog Spinning, NASM & ACE Personal Training Certifications, and 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training.
SPENGA instructors stay with you each step of the way guiding and encouraging you through the workout as well as correcting form or providing exercise modifications when needed. You will NEVER be left alone during your SPENGA session.
3. State of the Art Gym Facility
The SPENGA Marlborough studio is a state-of-the-art facility conveniently located at 115 APEX Drive Marlborough, right at the APEX Center. Our facility uses the best equipment that is made for commercial purposes including Precor Spinner Chrono Power bikes that are maintenance bi-monthly for power accuracy and mechanical updates. Our strength section uses Precor Queenex towers, TRX Pro4 Suspension Trainers, Perform Better dumbbells, kettlebells & slam balls as well as commercially made Bosu trainers. There is enough equipment for every session participant to have their own equipment – no need to share at SPENGA! Our yoga mats are high quality Manduka yoga mats that are easy to clean and always disinfected after each session. In fact one of the things, we are most proud of at SPENGA is our SPENGA Clean moto – all equipment is thoroughly cleaned between sessions by our highly trained staff. We ensure that each piece of equipment has been cleaned and sanitized properly so you can focus on getting the Best Workout Ever!
Fitness Studio Amenities
SPENGA Marlborough has class times to meet everyone’s needs. To make those early morning sessions even more convenient, or heading to an after-work event, we have two personal showers fully stocked with essential oil infused shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Forgot your hairdryer? No problem! Just ask one of our friendly front desk associates and they will lend you one.

SPENGA is more than just a fitness studio – we are a community of like-minded individuals who support and encourage each other. It’s a place where friendships are made, and accountability partners are formed to help each other reach their individual fitness goals.
