What is your favorite part about SPENGA?! What motivates you to keep coming back?
Part of it is the dynamic work out- cardio strength, and foundational yoga all in one…The other part of it is how well packaged it is. We can tolerate a 20-minute butt kicking… So the 20 minute butt kicking’s cut into pieces makes it a more engaging work out than the usual hour long spin ride. The last component is the people. Both the instructors and the participants are so welcoming and inclusive which creates a positive workout space. It's a community that motivates you to improve your fitness capabilities on your own terms and keeps us coming back.
What most surprised you about SPENGA?
How many kinds of people come in and “kick butt” in their WERKouts. Parents, teenagers, retirees…. Anybody can come in and be an absolute monster. It's inspiring!!
How has SPENGA impacted your life outside of the studio?
It’s given us structure in our week, helped us re-establish our work/personal life balance, and encouraged us to make time for our health in a structured way that we had lost track of in the chaos of our first year of parenthood.
What part of SPENGA would you like to grow in (SPIN, STRENGTH or YOGA) and why?
For Nick- Yoga. If you've ever seen him attempt to touch his feet, you'll know why.
For Cecily- strength. If you've ever seen her tyrannosaurus rex arms, you'll know why.
Tell us something about yourself that many of us may not know
We've lived in 3 cities (one international) in the last 7 years together. Have a beautiful daughter, a baby on the way, and will finally get married this fall!
